Wilson Winery was built on tradition and family—much like its landmark barn anchored to the eastern rim of the legendary Dry Creek Valley. When Ken and Diane Wilson opened the century-old cellar doors, they began to share more than their extraordinary wines, they offer a view into a wine valley's history and a legacy of winemaking. It was in 1993 when the Wilsons took on the restoration of the old tin barn—once the Chris Fredson Winery—complete with the original redwood vats and tanks. Today this historic barn houses modern stainless steel tanks and a new collection of French and American oak barrels for aging the Wilsons’ Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petite Sirah. More than a home for Wilson wines, the old tin barn is the homestead for their growing family of boutique wineries they nurture and are proud to call Wilson Artisan Wineries. We invite you to visit our historic tasting room in the heart of the beautiful Dry Creek Valley, just minutes from downtown Read more »

  • Disapointed with my search results for Temecula. Most were from 2010...Anyway, we are going on a family vacation in the area and I need some assistance in choosing a few wineries to hit.  Most of my research so far has been the wineries' websites, which are obviously biased.  However, based on this I am thinking about Doffo, Wiens, and Wilson Cr... • Wilson Creek Family Meritage 2007

Very fruit forward, which isn't always a bad thing. But what rubbed me the wrong way is that despite some nice pomegranate and rhubard nuances, there was a lot of dried fruit (prunes, dates) and not enough acidity. Read More

  • People are not going to like what I have to say here, but that is okay, this is not a popularity contest. I do not write about wine to gather as many friends or followers as possible. I write about wine because I love wine and while I know my palate sometimes strays outside of the mainstream, so be it. I know many other people share my tastes or... Read More

  • Wilson Creek Viognier Chloe Vineyard 2011

Really grapefruity and fairly cat pee like on the nose with a dried apricot underlay. This reminds me very much of Sauvignon Blanc. Light and rather fresh on entry, this is lightly flavored with less overt Sauvignon character in the mouth, but its not particularly Viognier like either. A bit neutral, fresh and easy to drink. Apricot and floral n... Read More
