  • Azienda Girolamo Russo 'A Rina Etna Rosso DOC 2008

Alcohol by volume was listed at 14%.On the palate, I enjoyed the smoothness of 'A Rina. The tannins were pleasing and the wine was dry. I tasted a few minerals and a little alcohol which gives this Rosso dell'Etna a warming feeling. The body was medium. 'A Rina has had a long and elegant finish.Tasting notes from Vino in Love: http://vinoinlove.... Read More

  • Poggio Anima 'Lilith' Primitivo Basilicata IGT 2011

This is very dark purple..black? Earthy, savory (herbal) smell. No wood. Tastes like olives. Very savory (little fruit) and is tannic! I've never had a tannic zinfandel. This wine is spitting out so much crud in my glass it looks like a warzone. Fits the story well. 14.5% but doesn't seem like it..very smooth wine. Very good, but not super memor... Read More

  • Leone de Castris Primitivo Primitivo di Manduria Villa Santera 2010

Villa Santera had a deep red color that goes towards purple. On the nose, I smelled very little vanilla and nothing. The palate had aggressive, unpleasing tannins and strong alcohol notes while being very dry.So we sat there and thought: "What can we do with this wine? It's undrinkable". We decided to chill it down to around 8°C and gave the win... Read More

  • Tenute Loacker Granfalco IGT Toscano 2004

The wine's color was an intense ruby-red with dark cherry-red overtones. Alcohol by volume was label listed at 14%. On the nose, there were aromas of vanilla, black currant, plums, cherry and caramel. A very harmonic bouquet. The oak notes where not too dominant but still present. The palate was interesting as well. I tasted roasted coffee and b... Read More

  • Il Feuduccio Pecorino IGT Abruzzo 2011

The wine had a light straw yellow color. After opening the bottle, there were aromas of green apple, lime, melon, flowers & mint. A very refreshing bouquet. On the palate, 'Pecorino' was fresh with a nice acidity. I tasted ripe fruits & honey. The finish was of medium length.Tasting notes from Vino in Love: http://vinoinlove.com/2011-il-feuduccio... Read More
