for this region?

Bordeaux rosé is made from the typical red Bordeaux varieties of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere. It can be made anywhere Bordeaux AC wine can be made. Generally, these wines are quite pale and delicate, since Bordeaux Clairet AC is reserved for darker, almost-red ones.

  • Chateau Bonnet Bordeaux Rose 2010

    Snoothrank:

Quite herbal on the nose with aromas of grilling green peppers and strawberry/rhubarb mixed with a limey citrusy edge. Light on entry with very good cut. This is bright and transparent with a refreshing mouthfeel. The acid is bright but integrated, and the vegetal notes of the nose are fold into a nice, fresh, almost strawberry-toned palate that... • Château Pavie Macquin Rosé Blend Bordeaux Rosé Rosé 2005

    Snoothrank:

Actually 4.5+ points. Color, this wine has a deep dark ruby red color, very seductive. Nose, there are a lot of black fruits going on, black licorice, mind toasty oak, vanilla, a hint of coffee beans, very complex nose indeed, some smooth nice dirt and dry leaves coming through also, extremely aromatic. Midpalate, very silky, black licorice domi... Read More

  • Château Bonnet 2006

    Snoothrank:

Actually, quite a nice bottle, age is key with this one. Five years or more is highly recommended, as this fine Bordeaux defines well the saying "that wine is better with age". 2 and 3 year old bottles can be bought for $15 - $20, then store it in your wine cellar for a couple years. 5 year old bottles will then easily sit in the company of $60 ...
