for this region?

Bordeaux rosé is made from the typical red Bordeaux varieties of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere. It can be made anywhere Bordeaux AC wine can be made. Generally, these wines are quite pale and delicate, since Bordeaux Clairet AC is reserved for darker, almost-red ones.

  • Here's another of those eye-popping offers from HDH, though it always surprises me how (relatively) reasonable bottle prices are for older Bordeaux library offerings compared to those from the last several years. • The expected price ranges quoted are for the lot-quantity of bottles mentioned, as with any auction. For popular bottles, bids may break through the forecast ceiling, however. Certainly has happened a lot in recent years for Bordeaux and Burgundy lots as Chinese and similar nouveau-riche excess monies have focused on a narrow range of 'prestige'... Read More

  • In the Bay Area and in the greater LA area, the choices are pretty huge, but that doesn't mean everything is easily available--more on that below. BevMo is headquartered here, and its ancestry can be traced back to the beginnings of a wine program at CostPlus and to Safeway's launch of Liquor Barn.  Short version is that Steve Boone more or less...
