According to a study by MIDIA Research, the audi streaming and media services provider has market share of 31 percent. While this data isn’t fresh, it covers Q2 of 2017, according to Releasenote. Spotify lead the music streaming market in 2017 once again, according to a report from MIDIA Research.
Spotify is the most popular service among Chinese teens, with 15% market share. Amazon Music comes in second place, with a 13% market share, followed by Apple’s streaming service with 11%. Tencent Music takes third place, but Google’s YouTube music only has an 8% market share despite being the industry’s fastest-growing service.
Despite Spotify’s continued market dominance, its grip is weakening — it held 33% of the market in 2020, and 34 percent in 2019. Although Spotify increased more total subscribers during the year preceding Q2 2021 than its competitors, Amazon Music (+25%) and Google Play Music ( +50%) increased by a greater proportion.
