THE HOGUE CELLARS™, founded in 1982 by Mike and Gary Hogue, is located in Eastern Washington's Columbia Valley, the premiere grape growing region of the state. The climate and soils of the Columbia Valley produce grapes with intense fruit flavors and high natural acidity. The wines have a liveliness and ripe, zesty fruit flavors that make them ideal complements to a wide range of food. – Description from iskicm

  • Hogue Genesis Meritage Red 2009

A gift from Scott & Jessica for consumption over the 2012 Christmas/New Year's Holidays. If my memory serves and it doesn't serve much these days, this was my first such tasting of a domestic red blend with Malbec as the minority grape. It was initially okay, but after breathing for an hour or so it turned into a real stunner on my rusty old pal... Read More

Cayuse, Quilceda Creek, Leonetti all occupy the top 3 spots, followed by a few mid tier standards like Betz, Reynvaan, Maison Bleue, Grammercy. Well, I should say I'm just starting to get to know these names and also starting to buy ... • Hogue Cellars L.H. Wht Riesl 2011

The Hogue 2011 is one of their better LH Rieslings. It has nectarine and honey notes and actually tastes late harvested for a change. There is also some botrytis character too, which is rare for Hogue LH wines. Lots of fruit is retained from the grapes. Probably cold fermented. ---- 5.4 grams sugar/100ml ---- Outstanding value. • Hogue Riesling Columbia Valley Late Harvest 2010

My wife and I had the 2010 and 2011 version of this wine and we didn't like it at all. It was highly recommended and we are Riesling fans, but it didn't work for us. Read More
