David Bruce Winery has earned an international reputation throughout its nearly four decades for its dedication to producing the greatest pinot noir in the world. In pursuit of this goal, the winery has adhered to traditional European winemaking practices that trace their lineage back to the early pioneers of winemaking in the Santa Cruz Mountains and Santa Clara Valley. David Bruce Winery has also been at the forefront of efforts to develop innovative new methods that have changed the face of winemaking in California. – Description from iskicm

  • Okay, so this is not news, and it's been discussed on the forum before. In the spirit of GDP's new rants, I figured I'd throw mine out there as well. I've seen too many hangovers caused by misjudged pacing due to wild variations in alcohol content.Mostly this is difficult in restaurants. If we're shopping in stores we can check the label easily ... Read More

  • Outside of the pricey boutique wineries, who do you think consistently produces good wine year-after-year and represents good value? I'm thinking of the "larger" more established wine makers, who try and bring their A-game across the spectrum of their varietals. To me the sign of a good wine maker and overall brand is someone who you can trust ev... • David Bruce Petite Sirah Paso Robles Shell Creek 2003

    Snoothrank:

Massive PS, a real value. Big, black and furious. Heavy dark black cherry, black plum, and campfire. Medicinal at 14.8 which takes a long time to burn off. Strong tannins, but I'm not convinced of a balance for aging. I'll sock a couple away and see what they do in a few years. Fun anyway if you like to get punched on the lips. Read More
