Cabernet Franc on Snooth

  • Ok, new year and time for a new topic of discussion.  Just yesterday I opened this Pinot Noir from California that initially sounded promising.  First  - it was given to Sandra as a retirement gift so it was free.  Second - a Pinot Noir bottled in St. Helena CA, so it has to be decent, right? and Third - a nice looking label.  Well, this 2014 Me... • Chateau Yon-Figeac Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2001

I bought this bottle of wine from the website ... of 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc.a typical right bank blend, and is aged for a year in oak barrels. I started my bottle last night with my supper of lamb chops and I did enjoy it. It is a deep red colour, there is plenty of a blackcurrant and plum style fruit, and the tannins were soft but g...
