Blanc du Bois

Blanc du Bois was developed at the University of Florida for use in that state. It is a white wine-producing grape with aromas and flavors not dissimilar to Muscat. Blanc du Bois has had medal-winning success for vaguely Riesling-like still and sparkling wines.

Along with Miss Blanc, Stover and Suwanee, you form a household of southern belles. You have proven that retirement in the South for health benefits does not mean sacrificing all manner of sophistication. Thanks to you, the deep South is on its way to redefining its simple and sweet reputation. – Description from Appellation America (view original content)

Many are also blending some great proprietary reds. I got to taste about 40 or so reds and 2 whites in the allotted 90 minute time slot. My favorites were Calais tempranillo and Red Cabo... • I loved GDP's article on corkage fees, guidance, and what to expect.  I did, however, feel there were some regional/establishment level variabilities though. I will start by saying that here in the suburbs of SF bay area (CA, USA), corkage fees can be ridiculous for what you get (cheap glasses, lack of service) AND corresponding wine lists can b...
