50% of the wine passes through French barrique for six months, new wood Fine French oak nose, small red berry fruits, a bit dark toned, black fruit, black spice, air brings out some. More wild berry aromas, powerful Pinot a touch blocky but rather elegant and refined given the power this shows, a lovely bright sapid red fruit nose early on the palate which is followed by light floral and slightly herbal elements adding complexity and depth. Rather blueberry toned on the backend and through the finish, which shows some woody tannin and finishes with notable licorice and vanilla ice top notes. This is modern styled and well done. 90pts
