Five fantastic organic white wines

There are so many fantastic organic wines out there - don't get stuck thinking "organic" means cheap, simple wines called "Green Planet" or the like. Some of the best wines in the world are organic or biodynamic though not all are certified. After posting a few red favorites and a list of great organic champagne, here comes my list for five lovely whites I've tasted in the past few weeks. Happy sipping!

(PS that's me and my sister on the cover pic. She's crazy and drinks anything but so much fun. We are hoping to do a wine travel series one of these days, to follow in our father's TV-host footsteps. Any contacts you have and wish to share, send me a message!)

3. Millton Chenin Blanc Gisborne Crazy By Nature Dry Flint (2010)

« Prev Next » 3 of 5
Previously available for $18.10

James Millton was a fantastic new acquaintance from the RAW-fair in London. His wines have a sharp minerality and freshness from the chilly climate in Gisborne. The sauvignon blancs from Millton, such as Te Arai, are positively delightful. The Crazy by Nature range is his more attractively priced bottlings and in a tasting with friends both this Chenin Blanc and the Crazy by Nature Chardonnay did well as great sipping and food wines. The name Crazy by Nature, by the way, comes from what James was called when he first went for full on biodynamics in this corner of the world. A producer to watch!
