This wine is the color of morello cherries, almost to the rim. It’s lightly volatile on the nose but not unpleasantly so. This is a more structured Carmenère than the first two: the tannins are pleasantly tugging and the acidity is focused. In fact, the structure defines this wine more clearly than its aromas. The fruit smells rest reluctantly in the background, but they edged out on the palate to show pomegranate, loganberry and black currant. Quick finish.
