5 Tips to Save Your Back and Neck While Gaming

5 Tips to Save Your Back and Neck While Gaming

Does your back and neck complain every time you go on hour-long gaming sessions on your phone or computer? You can strike a compromise with these five tips while playing an online poker game with friends.

Ergonomic Support

Sitting down for prolonged periods of time is never a good thing. Aside from the constant pressure on your lumbar and neck, your eyes will eventually get tired from looking at the screen. Employ ergonomic support in the form of a footstool or a chair with lumbar support.

Eye-Level Display

Keep the display or screen at eye level as much as possible. When sitting down and facing a monitor or TV, adjust the chair or elevate it so that your line of sight is straight and even. Refrain from lying down while playing poker as your arms will get tired much faster.

Take a Break

It’s always a good idea to take a break every now and then, especially if you’ve been playing for hours. Set the device aside, then take a walk or look out the window at the natural scenery. In addition, you can do some stretches for your limbs, back, and neck to restore proper blood flow.

Rest Your Eyes

Eye strain can lead to headaches, which in turn can affect your neck and back muscles. That said, you should set a reminder to rest your eyes every hour or so, or do it when your eyes feel tired and strained.

Hydrate

Hydrate with cold water or your favorite healthy beverage so your mind stays sharp and focused. You can combine this activity with others on the list, such as resting or when you take a break. Use the time wisely and think of strategies or things you can do better to win at your game.
