Rolling hills, Linne Calodo soil, hot summer days and cool coastal nights make excellent terrior for Zinfandel. The dry-farmed, head-pruned vines are grown in the old world tradition to produce a rich and very complex Zinfadel. The vineyard has a south-west exposure to ensure full sun during the day. The gently sloping hills of calcareous shale and adobe soil are reminiscent of the south of France, and allow for excellent drainage, with the afternoon coastal breezes tempering the extreme summer heat. Our wine is made exclusively from grapes on the small Nerelli estate. – Description from dvoristanac

Absolutely the best Zinfandel. I keep tasting others but none compare to the perfection that is Zinfandel from this small wonderful winery. Read More

  • Zinalley Zinfandel Rouge 2006

    Snoothrank:

I highly recommend you decant this one before drinking. While very dense and fruity at first, it will slowly reveal itself with exposure to oxygen. Just enough spice and acid to hold up well with most food, it also has a great depth of character. I've fooled many people who say they don't like Zin into loving it after tasting this wine. • I had to be in this wine club.... being a Zin freak. On the next shipment I'll have a three year vertical tasting, 2006, 2007 and 2008 releases. Can't wait! Frank is one of the best Zin producers in California, year after year just great powerful fruity Zin. But these will also cellar very well. You could easily put this one down for a decade.
