Zeni is a wine producer that has been in business since Bartolomeo Zeni began trading wine in the early 1800s in the Bardolino region of Lake Garda in Italy. Today, the Zeni family is still in charge of wine production, with artful attention to details and a sense of tradition using modern equipment and techniques. The company produces a broad range of styles from classical Bardolino, Soave, Valpolicella, Bianco di Custoza, Lugana and Amarone to IGTs, rosé, sparkling and dessert wines.

  • As many of you might know I am half Italian, with family that comes from the province of Trentino in northern Italy. It’s where the seeds for my love for wine were originally planted, and there are plenty of fabulous wines produced there. Though little of it finds it’s way to our shores. That is slowly changing but the truth is there is only so ... Read More

  • Zeni Teroldego 2012

Smoky and finely mineral and stemmy on the nose, this does show an impressive array of sweet spice and herbs on the nose which pop early on the palate as well. Theres gorgeous fruit here, bright, complex, and high toned, though the palate lacks the complexity of the nose. Everything wraps up in a clean, light finish. 87pts Read More

  • Zeni Teroldego Pini 2009

One third of the fruit used for this wine is air dried two to four weeks,Smoky with really big aromas of spicy black plum fruit and black cherries explode from the glass. This is a big wine with ripe dense fruit over a spicy base, all supported by a nice base of soft, brushy tannins and nervous, juicy acids. The fruit, big and black, remains f... Read More

  • Zeni Teroldego Teroldego Rotaliano 2010

Clear, not transparent, consistent wine with a red colour having purple nuances.Intense, though not very complex aromas: needs some time to fully develop. Mainly fruity aromas.Heavy bodied, really feeling the tannins, and persistent. Problably still needs some time to mature. Read More

  • Zeni Teroldego Rotaliano Lealbere 2010

Deeply fruited and perfumed on the nose with full on blackberry fruit. Framed with dark, oily herbs, liquory plum top notes and very toasty, roasted fruit notes. Big and opulent on entry, though with terrific acidity and ripe, soft fruit tannins in fine balance. This is a little bit of a fruit bomb filled with plum, blackberry and pomegranate fl... Read More

  • Zeni Teroldego Rotaliano I Pini Teroldego Trentino Alto Adige 2008

Balsamic and slightly herbal on the nose with mature notes of butchers wax, lardo and sun-dried tomato adding detail to the black, slightly jammy frutti del bosco note. A hint of caramel seems more indicative of oxidation than wood. This is remarkably light and elegant on the palate with gently nutty oak and oxidation notes superbly integrated i... Read More
