Zaca Mesa on Snooth

  • Zaca Mesa Santa Ynez Valley Syrah 2008

    Snoothrank:

Nice Syrahy dark black plum color in the glass. Something of a viney, or fungal nose.Quite mouth-filling. Initial reaction is oaky with not fruit. As the wine move over the palate, there is more detection of tannin with a tad bitterness. Way in the back is some berry/plum hints and then more oak. US$17.99 at Total Wine. Read More

  • Zaca Mesa Viognier Estate Grown & Bottled 2009

    Snoothrank:

Pours a light and clear golden color. Aromas of citrus, melons, honeysuckle and some peaches. Starts off with a slightly sweet taste of melon and citrus. In the middle some dry peaches and honeysuckle balance the sweetness. Finishes with some slightly sweet melon taste with a slight undertone of wet stones. A very light and refreshing wine.... • Zaca Mesa Z Cuvee United States California Santa Barbara Santa Ynez Valley Red 2007

    Snoothrank:

I stock up on this great value at each vintage release, but the '07 is the best in my experience. A great rhone blend. Lacks in complexity department, but the price and overall quality makes up for it. Read More
