I think JD is correct when you talk about Cab Sauv. Best is from Napa and you ... from Ontario for example. Or Wyncroft, from Michigan, which can hold its own with any. Domaine Serene is the one that put Oregon on everyone's list as the "Burgundian" place in the US, which is hilarious since most of Oregon is desert and the East Coast is far mo... Read More

Despite my somewhat feeble attempts trying to find US wine in Australia is frustratingSo I think I would like to build a list of high Quality but not astronomic priced wines my American Snooth Colleagues would suggest I look out forBare in mind that if it is from a very small niche producer I would need to know how I can source it in AustraliaSo... Hi Angela. I'm from Michigan. They used to make terrible sweet wine. Mostly ... best winery in the state - Wyncroft. As luck would have it, I just found some tasting notes today from a dinner I went to a few years ago when I discovered them. Jim Lester is the winemaker and he does wonderful Chardonnay and even Pinot Noir, which is not my favori... Read More

I am pretty much prejudiced towards red wines. However, that does not mean that I drink them exclusively. I do drink quite a bit of white wine. Probably, because, like most Americans my age, we are encouraged to bias out protein input away from red meats. The good news for me is that I do love seafood and chicken. So, that is really not a s... Read More

I know Michigan is not well known for wines but I am traveling to the northwest coast near Traverse City and want to know if anyone knows of any wineries I should check out in this region. There are at least over 200 wineries in the region and many have grape varieties such as Riesling, and Pinot Noir. I thank you in advance for any help you ca... Read More

I'm a newbie here at Snooth. :) In addition to taking the leap into the lovely world of wine and experiencing the brands that the globe has to offer, I figure I'd also ask you wonderful people about some local stuff too. Are any of you from the Michigan area?I live about an hour north of Detroit. There's several vineyards over on the west side o... Read More
