Founded in 1983 by Oregon native, Jim Bernau, with the dream of creating world-class Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley Vineyards has grown from a bold idea into one of the region’s leading wineries, earning the title “One of America’s Great Pinot Noir Producers,” from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Willamette Valley Vineyards approach is to grow, by hand, the highest quality fruit to produce wines of distinction, that are truly expressive of the varietal and the place where they are grown. All the vineyards, the Estate Vineyard, Tualatin Estate, and Elton vineyard, have been certified sustainable through LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) and Salmon Safe programs since 1997. In 2007, Willamette Valley Vineyards became the first winery in the world to use sustainable cork stoppers certified by the Rainforest Alliance and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards. In 2010, Willamette Valley Vineyards released their first Oregon Certified Sustainable Wine (OCSW). Willamette Valley Vineyards commitment Read more »

Willamette Valley Vineyards on Snooth

  • Yeah but that's true for lots of things isn't it? The deal with PN is ... ... wouldn't. "Willamette Valley Vineyards Whole Cluster at $19.97 at Total Wines"Completely agree with that one. And I would usually rather drink anything than Pinot Noir, but that's a very nice wine nonetheless.Except I only buy it when it's when it's on sale at Ralph'... Read More

  • Willamette Valley Vineyards Estate Chardonnay Willamette Valley 2014

    Snoothrank:

Light toast and white peach aromas with a floral note showing amidst fresh apple and tea leaf. This is round and firm in the mouth, soft and powdery and light on its feet, with a touch of lemon coming through towards the finish with the tea leaf returning amidst oaky vanilla notes. Read More

  • Long time lurker on both Snooth and Wine Berserkers. Why I decided to post now, I am not sure. Lover of California red wines particularly Zins and Cabs. Just getting into Pinots. Hate spending more than $50/ bottle. My comfort level is between $30-$40. Small wine cellar ( about 100 bottles) because we tend to drink what we buy.I do not feel that... Read More

Opening a bottle of sparkling wine can be a a dangerous proposition. There's a lot of pressure under that cork! But if you like living on the edge, there's always sabrage. When t... Read More

  • Being aware of price points for most of the other varietals I have always wondered why the Pinot Noirs are always priced way ahead of the other varietals. It is almost impossible to purchase a Pinot Noir at the same price point/quality as a Cabernet Sauvignon for under $20Now I live in a region where both Cabernet Sauvignon (Washington State) and... • The majority of wines on the market these days are meant to be consumed within one to five years. This is a natural law. Producing wines that can sit in the cellar for decades is time-consuming and expensive. There is a time and place for wines that age and adventurous palates are required. Most all age-worthy wines will have high acid, tannin, ... Read More

  • Anne Amie Vineyards Winemaker's Selection Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2014

    Snoothrank:

Intriguing, lightly savory aromas of mineral earth frame the bright sweet fruit aromas of Bing cherries, strawberry and crushed flower petals. Cool blue fruit and zesty spice on the palate, this is smooth and true to form with buoyant cherry and mixed berry notes, tart acidity with red currant up front and a streak of raspberry preserves on the ...
