Founded in 1983 by Oregon native, Jim Bernau, with the dream of creating world-class Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley Vineyards has grown from a bold idea into one of the region’s leading wineries, earning the title “One of America’s Great Pinot Noir Producers,” from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Willamette Valley Vineyards approach is to grow, by hand, the highest quality fruit to produce wines of distinction, that are truly expressive of the varietal and the place where they are grown. All the vineyards, the Estate Vineyard, Tualatin Estate, and Elton vineyard, have been certified sustainable through LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) and Salmon Safe programs since 1997. In 2007, Willamette Valley Vineyards became the first winery in the world to use sustainable cork stoppers certified by the Rainforest Alliance and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards. In 2010, Willamette Valley Vineyards released their first Oregon Certified Sustainable Wine (OCSW). Willamette Valley Vineyards commitment Read more »

  • Willamette Valley Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir 2014

    Snoothrank:

Beautifully rich and floral aromas of violet and warm baking spice, ripe cherry and elegant minerality on the nose. This holds up beautifully in the palate with a round and full mouth full of tart cherry, raspberry and red currant, fresh acidity in perfect balance with tannic structure, and delicate salinity drying out the palate at just the rig... • Anyone have any experience?I've noticed Kelley mentioned among the best company in Oregon Pinot, popular with Somm's and the like. Being a Burgundy lover, I've mostly found CA Pinot painful (though I've found a few I like!), and Oregon Pinot quite a bit more elegant, but sometimes or most of the time more boring rather than painful (as I find wi... • Ponzi Vineyards Pinot Noir Reserve Willamette Valley 2013

    Snoothrank:

Light cranberry and crushed violet aromas with dark cherry. Dark black cherry on the palate with an explosion of fruit up front that carries a floral note through with hints of poppy seed and cinnamon, very nicely integrated with a perfect acidic pop towards the finish, which leads the way for bright red fruit and a long finish. • Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris 2014

    Snoothrank:

Fresh lemon with bright honeydew melon notes on the nose with a touch of citrus peel. Bright green fruits wash over the palate with a lime twist. All this buttressed by exceptional acidity. Steely and clean on the finish. 90 pts. Read More
