Founded in 1983 by Oregon native, Jim Bernau, with the dream of creating world-class Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley Vineyards has grown from a bold idea into one of the region’s leading wineries, earning the title “One of America’s Great Pinot Noir Producers,” from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Willamette Valley Vineyards approach is to grow, by hand, the highest quality fruit to produce wines of distinction, that are truly expressive of the varietal and the place where they are grown. All the vineyards, the Estate Vineyard, Tualatin Estate, and Elton vineyard, have been certified sustainable through LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) and Salmon Safe programs since 1997. In 2007, Willamette Valley Vineyards became the first winery in the world to use sustainable cork stoppers certified by the Rainforest Alliance and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards. In 2010, Willamette Valley Vineyards released their first Oregon Certified Sustainable Wine (OCSW). Willamette Valley Vineyards commitment Read more »

  • I just returned from the Willamette Valley earlier this week! While it is a 30 minute drive from Newberg, I implore you to make an appointment with Walter Scott. Ken, the winemaker, is producing some of the finest Chardonnays I've ever tasted out of Oregon. The drive from Newberg is quite scenic. You'll really get up into the hills. Vista Hills ... Read More

  • How brutal was winter? Just forget it. Forget how cold it was, forget how much snow you had. Let your mouth tell you as your brain convinces you to push past cases of luscious and full-bodied red wines that are aching for you. • Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Noir Whole Cluster Willamette Valley 2013

    Snoothrank:

I ventured this year into Pinot Noirs which I generally dislike with one strong exception. Pinot Noirs with a more bold taste. This one fits the category that I enjoy, it's not subtle, it actually has some crazy tastes going on. This one is a beautiful bomb. Most reviews speak of fruit salad in a bowl............I agree, this is fruit salad in a... Read More
