Founded in 1983 by Oregon native, Jim Bernau, with the dream of creating world-class Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley Vineyards has grown from a bold idea into one of the region’s leading wineries, earning the title “One of America’s Great Pinot Noir Producers,” from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Willamette Valley Vineyards approach is to grow, by hand, the highest quality fruit to produce wines of distinction, that are truly expressive of the varietal and the place where they are grown. All the vineyards, the Estate Vineyard, Tualatin Estate, and Elton vineyard, have been certified sustainable through LIVE (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) and Salmon Safe programs since 1997. In 2007, Willamette Valley Vineyards became the first winery in the world to use sustainable cork stoppers certified by the Rainforest Alliance and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards. In 2010, Willamette Valley Vineyards released their first Oregon Certified Sustainable Wine (OCSW). Willamette Valley Vineyards commitment Read more »

  • Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris Willamette Valley 2013

    Snoothrank:

Excellent Willamette pinot gris. Ripe pear, golden apple, a spritz of lemon zest, nice acidity and a medium finish. Fairly smooth and a somewhat viscuous tongue coating texture. Definitely one of the better pinot gris' we've had. Read More

  • NAPAGIRL68: I've tasted recent vintages of Stoller, Bethel Heights and Evesham Wood - all are stellar, and each of the recent vintages are extremely different, of course. We had a very cool year in 2011, so the Pinots have higher acidity and excellent complexity and depth. 2012 was a warmer than average vintage, so the Pinots are riper and fruit... Read More

  • Cristom Pinot Noir Sommers Reserve Willamette Valley 2010

    Snoothrank:

Bright, crisp red and black cherries, a touch of red grapefruit on the nose and palate, bracing acidity and a medium to long finish. This is what Willamette pinot is about - getting you as close to Burgundy as possible without leaving the States. Read More
