Wallaroo Wines
The Wallaroo story
Wallaroo Wines is a family owned cool climate vineyard set on a 320 acre property in the Hall district wineries area, approximately 25 minutes north of Canberra near the historic village of Hall.
It is set in the beautiful 'Hills of Hall' tourist area off Wallaroo Road and is the closest wine district to Canberra.
The cool climate of the Canberra region produces excellent, award-winning wine, which is now being recognised world-wide. The warm sunny days and cool nights mean less disease than other areas, and fruit with a wonderful intensity and delicate flavour.
Our grapes are harvested at night to ensure they get to the winery in the best possible condition. We hand prune in winter, and our long dry summers provide perfect ripening conditions.
The Canberra region
The Canberra WIne District traces its origins to the 1850's wineries at Yass. Today, there are 33 wineries and 140 vineyards in the District, consisting of 500 hectares of vines.
