Our basic winemaking philosophy is to work with great grape growers to develop the best fruit in the vineyard. We pick the grapes at optimal ripeness and gently process the fruit. We are very experimental with yeast strains and use different cultures for each variety. Our whites are barrel fermented slowly and aged Sur Lies in small French Oak barrels. With our reds, skin contact is optimized by the use of small open top fermentors, hand punch downs and extended maceration before pressing. Our belief in the use of older French Oak barrels allows the varietal fruit of our wines to be expressed. We are committed to experimenting and learning new winemaking methods while preserving an old world approach. – Description from dvoristanac

  • Daytripper Clarksburg Petite Sirah 2012

    Snoothrank:

A Tasting Room quarterly selection also available from Lot 18. This is the Lot 18 review which I found pretty accurate. '...At first sip, this could be mistaken for a ripe Zinfandel or Syrah, with its incredibly juicy berry fruit, fleshy plum and spice character. But the concentration of flavors and supple texture on the finish remind you that i... Read More

  • Vinum Cellars California Petite Sirah 2010

    Snoothrank:

Nice little bomb of a wine. Part of a Tasting Room quarterly selection.Dark, thick, and inky, with a load of earthy spice jam sweetness (not sweet at all, but left that impression). if only I had swilled this down instead of Welch's Grape Juice while growing up, I might have a more subtle palate. • Promise Seeker Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

    Snoothrank:

These are the tasting notes from Lot 18-Tasting NotesFrom the winery: "Ruby in color, with aromas of black cherry, plum and violet. Ripe flavors of blackberries and raspberries combine, and hints of savory spice and thin mint coat the palate. The tannins are well integrated with the fruit and create a saturated, balanced and long finish."ha, ha,... Read More

  • Vinum Cellars Zinfandel 2011

    Snoothrank:

Really pretty horrid this time, started with a bit of vinegar, then bright unripe cherry berry fruit, tart, nothing soft here; little if any oak or anything smouldering to smooth out the sharp feel...seemed just too young. Strange, because the bottle I had a while back, was quite good. Overall, that horrible feeling of smelling before seeing a p... Read More

  • Vinum Cellars Red Rhone Blend El Dorado County Red Dirt Red 2008

    Snoothrank:

This is a syrah, grenache, mourverde blend from california. I initially tasted this at a wine bar close to the San Francisco War Memorial. I am partial to complex reds that explode with the taste and aroma of cherries, spices, vanilla, and licorice and this wine fits the bill nicely. It's delicious and smooth with long complex aftertaste th... Read More
