The establishment of the Vinakoper Wine Cellar dates back to 1947. Throughout the decades, the company underwent several reorganisations and today it operates as a limited-liability company closely connected to the local environment of the Slovenian Istria and open to the Mediterranean. With over five hundred hectares of own vineyards, the Vinakoper Wine Cellar is the largest Slovenian wine producer. In various vineyards spread from the Adriatic to the Istrian hinterland, we successfully grow the local varieties refosco, malvasia and yellow muscat, which are typical of the area. We are also achieving enviable quality with international varieties such as chardonnay, pinot gris, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and shiraz. In winemaking, we rely on tradition and in-depth knowledge of local features, combining them with advanced technology.
