It is an old wine cellar, whose background dates from 1860, that decided to expand and modify its aspect. Pérez Foncea family, owners of the plants, have been producing wine for many years, but they moved in the home area. Ready to give a great step forward, they built a wine cellar which is located at Logroño, a modern building with a controlled temperature stainless steel fermentation mill, an equipment of coldness, a new bottling train and new oaken casks. Everything was sufficient for their idea of not exceeding a million bottles. – Description from dvoristanac

  • Not necessarily worth a trip back. I just stopped at the supermarket and ... ... wine was good. That was the Vina Valoria however. This one is different and I can't really say much about it. Seems like they released a lot of it - BevMo has or had it for a similar price, and if they do and Costco does, that means there's a lot of it around. Mos... Read More

  • Valoria Tinto Cosecha 1973

This bottle was decanted three hours before tasting. It opened with sweet plum sauce, cherry tobacco, allspice and clove with sweet peas and musk on the nose. This wine excites the palate with roasted cherries, old cedar, sweet sun tea and fresh earth on a gorgeous velvety frame. The finish is long, long , long with tea leaf and spicy fresh cherry. • Viña Valoria Blanco Crianza Rioja Spain 2000

Holy cow what a wine! To be expected from a winery that also released a 40 year old library red. This white sees 6 months in barrel (probably newer french) and has the hallmarks of a classic Burgundian chardonnay at a fraction of the price. Classic lanolin, wet wool, with bright lemon, white peach, and lychee notes. Finish goes on and on like th... Read More

  • Viña Valoria Rioja 1968

Amazing wine - for something that is over 40 years old to taste so fresh and spot on. Perfect berry notes with sublime leather and minimal wood effects. Not like a typical old school Rioja with tons of oak aging, this tastes incredible. Worth it if you can find it. Read More
