Since 1974 certain Vietti wines have been dressed with specially-designed original works (lithographs, xylographies, etchings, silkscreens, linocuts) inspired by the wine of that particular vintage. The print run is the same as the number of bottles produced, and the first hundred labels are signed by the Artist. Each work is only used once, just for the wine of that vintage. Since the presentation of the 1982 Barolo Villero in 1988, the artist’s labels have been dedicated exclusively to the wines grown on this great vineyard. – Description from JelaDragoljevic

  • Expectations and experience tend to soften excitement in wine, muffling the high pitch of greatness to meager moans. It can be difficult to savor the high highs once a sensory resume has been established, just as the anticipatory thrill of perfection can carve the pleasure from the stem like a critical mass. As oddly as it sounds, the Quilceda C... Read More

  • I'm not usually one to pair my wines with food, but this one got me thinking...Would it automatically be a red (like a pinot or shiraz), because of the pasta and marinara sauce?or Would it be a white, because of the turkey? (Isn't poultry usually paired with whites?)Usually, I just drink whatever I am feeling that day and not worry about matchin... Read More

  • I just can't help but feel like both WA and WS are rating wines higher then they have in the past. These thoughts are coming from my true love in wine, Barolo. I remember reading reviews on wines from 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001 (all great vintages) and for some of the best producers in that region I would see scores of 90 - 94 for some of the best... Read More
