Since 1974 certain Vietti wines have been dressed with specially-designed original works (lithographs, xylographies, etchings, silkscreens, linocuts) inspired by the wine of that particular vintage. The print run is the same as the number of bottles produced, and the first hundred labels are signed by the Artist. Each work is only used once, just for the wine of that vintage. Since the presentation of the 1982 Barolo Villero in 1988, the artist’s labels have been dedicated exclusively to the wines grown on this great vineyard. – Description from JelaDragoljevic

  • Barolo may be Italy’s most famous red but surprisingly it hails from a ... Sandrone (M), Scavino (M), Vietti (T) and Veorzio (M).  I can’t sit on the fence I’m afraid……I’m a traditionalist, although that said, I’m not a fan of Barolo that’s lost its fruit languishing in a large vat for weeks on end. So, traditionalists that have taken a touch ... Read More

Piemonte thing, don't neglect Antiche Vigneti di Cantalupo's Ghemme Anno Primo.  Good, typical if lighter Piemontese nebbiolo at a fair price.  A go to for me.  No need to spend $... Read More

  • Of course you can go wrong, MM!  You can buy overpriced modernist Barolo ... ... or maybe a normale from Vietti (that's the Castiglione at about $50) and one of Vietti's Cru bottlings.  Or get an older Oddero and a 2010. • A bunch of drinks poured for ourselves and another couple last Friday...Trying ... the choice. The 2012 Vietti Perbaccho showed well. Early drinking Nebbiolo, that showed the complexity of the grape, though this is more on the feminine side, it's still plenty interesting and food friendly.
