Valle dell'Acate on Snooth
Interesting nose that at first is caramel, but then a strange bit of turpentine. Lots of prunes on the palate.Thanks to Gambino's Wines in O'Fallon, Missouri.
Served chilled (it was a little too cold, but warmed up at the table). The nose was muted due to the temperature, but there was a cherry pie flavor, complete with vanilla pie crust. Light, and with no tannins.
Very well received by everyone who tasted it. Smells like frosted cherry pie, but there's a lot of fresh acidity giving it a tart finish.
