Tony Valenzano, Sr. was a wine making hobbyist, planting vines and growing grapes since the early 1990s on our seven acre farm at 340 Forked Neck Road in Shamong -- right in the heart of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. That hobby has grown into one of the Garden State’s most prominent wineries. Family and friends began to enjoy Tony Valenzano Sr.’s creations and, in 1996, Valenzano Winery became a licensed winery. The initial year, less than 500 gallons of wines were produced at the initial Shamong location, and a few accounts were opened with local fine wine stores. Since then, we’ve expanded from one to three locations: the original Forked Necked Road location, another at 1320 Old Indian Mills Road, and the recently completed new production facility on our farm at 1090 Route 206 in Shamong. This new, state-of-the-art facility gives Valenzano Winery the ability to increase production to almost 30,000 gallons and 150,000 bottles per year, while utilizing the most advanced methods of oenology and Read more »

Yuck. Very sweet with an uncomfortable burn. If this is your taste, try a gallon of Fortissimo for about the same price. Read More

    Snoothrank:

Awesome wine from a local New Jersey winery! A sweet fruity red. If you don't like the dryness that the cabs and merlots have, you should definately give this a try! I prefer mine chilled. Available at Traino's Wine & Spirits. Read More

  • Jersey Devil Forte

    Snoothrank:

At first sip, I thought it was a rather strong alcohol content as it did actually have a "burn" coupled with a sweet wine taste. My wife felt it was a little too sweet. Since it was New Year's Eve, I felt compelled to have yet another glass (read: let loose); upon further review, the sweetness actually counter-balances the burn and renders th... Read More

As for an East coast wine, this was an average Norton wine, but not on par with Cooper Vineyards' Norton in Louisa, VA. Drinkable, but not to be compared to MO wines by the same grape. Read More

Very good wine. 19.5% alcohol by volume but very sweet. Has no burn at all a little dangerous actually in that you could drink alot of it and not realize how intoxicated you are getting. Read More

  • We were talking the other day about the Norton grape and I had mentioned that there was a NOVA winery that had just won a double gold with theirs. Well, I thought that I should give it a review to give people a little more insight as to what this wine is all about. This is one that I cheerfully recommend.http://www.corrundum.net/post/Oh-crap-ano... Read More
