Two Oceans is named for the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, which converge at the tip of the Western Cape of South Africa where the winery is located. Their climatic influences help lengthen the growing season and result in grapes with excellent balance of flavor. The wines are produced using sustainable practices and the winery supports the Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SASSI) to conserve “overexploited” species in the oceans used for food sources.

  • Assuming they drag their finger swag back to their habitat, that would be a trick, keeping butter melted undersea at those depths! Interesting beasties, though. Several times while diving in differing oceans have encountered a dozen or more of them all under the same boulder, lined up like warships in their slips preparing to leave port. Can hav... I had the idea to pair up Greg and a friend from the Netherlands who was in San Diego for a convention, due to their interest in Tokaj, and it seemed to work well, everyone having a good time.Lessons Learned: Harslevelu is good stuff, and probably my new favorite white wine gra... • The origin of the broadbased decanter was during the Age of Exploration. They were called 'Captain's Decanters' and had to be so wide at the bottom to stay upright during the tosses and turns and shifting on top of the table in the Captain's cabin during heavy swells or choppy seas on ocean voyages. Certainly no problem aerating then, but sedime... Read More

  • Our courtyard is the perfect place, at least at this time of year.  It has seen many gatherings of friends and acquaintances to enjoy a little fruit and cheese, a little wine, and a lot of conversation.  What, after all, can be more important than trying to communicate with other humans -- and how better than in my courtyard and over a nice glas...
