We established Twisted Tree Vineyards and Winery in 2004, when we moved to Osoyoos with hopes of pursuing our dream of making great wine in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. We purchased the six acre Class I viticultural parcel of land on the east bench above Lake Osoyoos in early 2004, and spent the remainder of the year preparing it for planting. We have now planted six noble vinifera varietals on this spectacular hillside site. Our home site planting was followed by a 2006 planting on additional three additional acres of prime vineyard land, also located on the Osoyoos east bench. We both love wine, and the wonderful process of creating each new vintage from the fruit grown right here in the Valley. We have had the good fortune to work with growers who take enormous pride in the quality of fruit they produce in their vineyards. We honor their dedication and commitment to excellence in viticultural practices by adhering to a simple winemaking philosophy based on respecting the individual character of Read more »

  • Thought I'd start a topic to see what "different" wines people are drinking. I've been on a hunt to find wines made from lesser known grapes or from unusual areas. Here's one of each. This is a rose made from Cinsault, not too unusual right? Well this is from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. Either they don't make very good wine in Lebanon or this bo... Read More

  • Twisted Tree Viognier Roussanne 2009

This wine is under the old Twisted Tree label - now superseded by the Moon Curser moniker. An excellent wine, this blend is nonetheless a bit over-dominated by the citrus-rind of the Viognier which gives the wine the illusion of warmth and some lingering bitterness on the finish. More Roussanne and less Viognier in-your-face almond bitterness wo... Read More

  • Moon Curser Afraid of the Dark 2010

Moon Curser Vineyards is the current incarnation of Twisted Tree Vineyards but with commensurate wine-making wizardry. The Rhone white varieties of Roussanne (a personal favorite of mine), Marsanne and Viognier are the three components of this subtle concoction. Don't be distracted by the lycanthropy message in the label (after all, Avignon is ... Read More

  • Twisted Tree Vineyards White Rhone Blend Marsanne Roussanne 2009

This Lake Osoyoos white has a nose of stewed fruit such as apricots, peaches, mango and guava together in a kind of harmonic presence. Upon entry, there is the slightly oily viscosity lovers of these grapes (especially Roussanne) know well; there is more stone fruit and that mystifying yet enticing orange Pekoe tea on the palate. This wine is ... Read More

  • Vine age has to be one of my favorite, controversial arbiters of wine quality (next to native yeasts). I strongly believe that my favorite region of the wine world, Chateauneuf du Pape, benefits greatly from the century old Grenache vines that dug their roots in the ground sometime before World War One. Well how old is old? According to Lenz Win... Read More
