Turley is a winery that focuses on small production “Big Red” wines from old vine Zinfandel and Petite Syrah, based in St. Helena in the Napa Valley, California. The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa.

  • I also enjoy Ridge zin blends. I have enjoyed Paraduxx "Postmark" ... ... second the remarks about Turley. The "California ZInfandel" bottle is the true supermarket version (although that is not the case in Texas), whereas the Juvenile sits just above that. They are fine. • Yep, OT is right, the last time I had Turley I bought some old vintages for a themed tasting--nothing more recent than 2003.  I did receive a gift of the Juvenile, which is Cali designated, from a more recent vintage.  Probably 2009.  Good, not great--it's the "supermarket" Turley, like R'wood Vintners Blend but 2.5x the price.  It was fine, but... • Emark's recommendations are spot-on, esp because you are outside the Zin ... know I can rely on it.  Turley is also probably available near you, but it's more expensive and ultra concentrated.  I'm not a huge fan of it, but it's good if you like the style, great even.  Sobon from the Sierra Foothills is reasonable and sometimes gets to markets... • Hey edwilly - haven't seen you around for a while. I know you know this, ... ... IMHO. That said, the Turley's are some of the best and I think their Haynes PS may be their best wine period. Not that it's Rhone-like, but it's just a damn good wine.Anyhow, what do I know.Welcom Read More

I had a bottle of that Turley/Hayne PS in my hands at a store a couple months ago, and I really wanted to buy it.  However, when I considered that I could have 5 X bottles of Alturas or 4 X bottles of Ridge Lytton Springs for the price of that one bottle, I...
