The Trentadue family arrived in Sonoma County long before their region gained a reputation as the Wine Country. Life-long, hands-on agriculturists, Evelyn and Leo Trentadue contributed significantly to the advancement of their region over the years. In 1959, the Trentadues decided to flee the developers encroaching on their apricot and cherry orchards in Sunnyvale, the area known today around the world as Silicon Valley. To preserve their way of life, these hard-working Italian ranchers purchased 208 acres of land in Sonoma County's then remote Alexander Valley. The Trentadue family has been growing premium red wine grapes on their 200 acre estate in the Alexander Valley for over 47 years. With vines dating back to 1886, to the adaptation of improved farming practices and the planting of new clones and rootstocks, the Trentadues continue to balance the traditions of the area's early Italian growers and the ever-evolving changes within the viticulture industry. • Trentadue Alexander Valley Estate Zinfandel 2009

    Snoothrank:

Deep dark purple color in the glass. Sharp, sour nose. Somewhat light on the palate. Tannin detected on the tip of the tongue. Can find some fruit here as the wine moves to mid-palate. Quite noticeable alcohol burn in the finish. However, that fades to a lingering fruity memory... Read more

  • Trentadue Alexander Valley Carignane 2003

    Snoothrank:

Opaque black plum hue, aromas of red stone fruits and spice; flavor notes of black cherries, black currants, tobacco smoke and pie crust, richly textured with integrated tannins over a refined, but moderate finish. Enjoyed in 2011.

  • Trentadue Winery Petite Sirah 2004

    Snoothrank:

This is a big, powerful wine with predominant aromas of ripe plums, blackberry and the typical, for the variety, blueberry. The second layer brings out graphite and smoky-tarry nuances of coffee and molasses. The mouth feel is definitely of a full bodied wine with massive but... Read more
