The Trentadue family arrived in Sonoma County long before their region gained a reputation as the Wine Country. Life-long, hands-on agriculturists, Evelyn and Leo Trentadue contributed significantly to the advancement of their region over the years. In 1959, the Trentadues decided to flee the developers encroaching on their apricot and cherry orchards in Sunnyvale, the area known today around the world as Silicon Valley. To preserve their way of life, these hard-working Italian ranchers purchased 208 acres of land in Sonoma County's then remote Alexander Valley. The Trentadue family has been growing premium red wine grapes on their 200 acre estate in the Alexander Valley for over 47 years. With vines dating back to 1886, to the adaptation of improved farming practices and the planting of new clones and rootstocks, the Trentadues continue to balance the traditions of the area's early Italian growers and the ever-evolving changes within the viticulture industry. Of the twelve varieties grown on the Estate Read more »

  • Trentadue Winery la Storia Petite Sirah 2011

The wine of the night on round the world tour for some new people to the PFWC wine cellar. This actually could have sat for another yr or two, but it is big and bold right now and drinking well. Blackberries, dirt and pepper with large tannins and properly scaled acidity makes the mouth go POP! The aftertaste is large and extended. This is why I... Read More

  • Trentadue Winery Old Patch Red Sonoma County 2010

Dark and earthy on the nose with toasty oak spice and hints of licorice and dried herbs framing a core of dark, plummy fruit. Soft yet bright in the mouth with a hint of sweetness but mostly bright, herb and earth inflected blackberry fruit framed with hints of vanilla and toasted spices. This sits rather upright in the mouth with a fair amount ... Read More

  • Trentadue Sonoma County Old Patch Red 2011

Took this to book club, where red wine preferences predominate -- the women loved it! Fruit forward but wonderfully spicy and peppery, dark red fruits, a little licorice and a smooth, satisfying finish. Went back and bought a case! Very food friendly but holds up well as a happy hour wine as well. Great value for the price. Read More
