The vines at Township 7/Langley were planted in the spring of 2000 and the winery opened for business in July of 2001. In the fall of 2003, a second vineyard property was purchased on the Naramata Bench. Two acres of grape vines were planted on the seven acre property in the spring of 2004, and additional vines planted in 2005. The combined production facility and tasting room was completed and opened in the summer of 2004, and offers visitors the opportunity to see the workings of the winery first hand. The Langley wine shop is housed in the beautiful south Langley countryside in a quaint building reminiscent, on the outside, of the many riding stables in the neighbourhood. Aside from the vineyards in Langley and on the Naramata Bench, grapes for our wines are grown in the Oliver area of British Columbia, a world-renowned location for growing grapes for the more full-bodied Merlots, Cabernet Sauvignons, Syrahs and Chardonnays that Township 7 produces. • Township 7 Merlot 2012

This Merlot sourced from the Okanagan but marketed at the Langley BC Vineyard and Tasting facility (Fraser Valley) is a consistently decent red: there are black cherry and chocolate notes on the nose with rich, smooth cherry vanilla flavours on the palate. Tastes like a decent Bordeaux Superieur just up from the Palus. This is the best quality ... Read More

  • Township 7 Sauvignon Blanc 2014

I tasted the 2014 Township 7 Sauvignon Blanc at a Garden Party held at the Langley BC site of the winery. It was a hot day (32 degrees), so the whites were kings. The wine has some subtlety with soft white fruit such as pear, apple and freshly mown grass on the nose. Clean on entry, but light and not intrusive, this wine is quite French in styl... Read More

  • Forgive me, but I'm a little inebriated.  Tonight Terri made a massive ... fruit.  So, we opened a Township 7 merlot (2008), which mercifully was damn nice.  After about half an hour, it was verging on the level with the Poplar Grove Legacy I raves about last Sunday.  Then, weirdly, the Ex nihilo started to come around about another hour  later... • Hey Zuf, I noticed you just reviewed the Township 7 cab!  I haven't seen it in Victoria.  I used to love the merlot, but the 2010 sucked.  Haven't tried the 2011. Did you get it at BC Liquor? Read More

  • Township 7 Cabernet Sauvignon Blue Terrace Vineyard 2010

This 2010 entry from Township 7 (originally headquartered at Langley BC Canada - but with vineyards in Naramata) is a nice, medium-bodied, sound Cab with a hint of acidity, precipitated tannin, coffee and tasty blackberry notes; the balance is good and nose is leather plus black fruit such as mentioned. Very good value, but drink now. 87 points. Read More

  • Hey Melissa,This is why vintages are important.  BC vintage years 2010 and ... There was a merlot I loved (Township 7, $25).  2007 was incredible, almost like Amarone.  2008 was fantastic, 2009 was great.  2010 was like a totally different wine.  Like there was no fruit.  Same with a cab/merlot blend I loved.  2010 sucked.  2012 is looking grea... • For over 10 years Clos du Bois North Coast Merlot was my go -to red.  Well balanced, fruit forward, moderate spice, off dry, silky smooth and long, lush finish..  Then, in the 2010 vintage, something went horribly wrong.  The dominant note was a cinnamon-nutmeg-jalapeno concoction.  Stopped drinking it all together.  Then my husband bought the 2...
