The ORIA de Rueda family founded TORRE ORIA in 1897. The family were from the North of Spain. This family had several different businesses, some of these in the town of Requena. At that time, the town of Requena had a prosperous and flourishing silk industry, and the ORIA de Rueda family attracted for it, decided to settle here. The family started the construction of a luxury mansion, designed by a Valencian architect, called Jose Donderis. After several years, the construction of the property was finally finished and the production of wine began. The production of wine was at first only for personal consumption. In 1954, their successors decided to sell the main part of the property, part of that property was villa Iñigo, Palace - wine cellar of San Jose, until 1981, it was not bought. Therefore, in 1981 five couples bought the remaining land.
