    Wine review by martins2002

  • Tokaji Furmint for a dry white, though I'm not sure what the ideal pairing here is, it would seem hard to go wrong. Villanyi Merlot would be my pick off the list for reds. Crispy roast duck looks nice, maybe better suited for a red Burgundy.Tokaji 5 Puttonyos afterward.Didnt notice this restaurant was in London, bummer.   Read More

  • Hetszolo Tokaji Aszu 3 Puttonyos 2003

Wow - a true star of the night. Where as the Kono was reserved and elegant this was forward and seductive. A rich amber in the glass. The bursts with honey, jammy apricot, left over hot caramel toffe, citruss and spice. On the palate this just plain sucks you in. The acidity cuts through the sweetness and with the cinnamon spice provides and cle... Read More

  • Searching for a new wine grape to spice things up this spring? We’ve got ... ... from your last glass of Tokaji, Hungary’s famed sweet wine. As you would suspect, the grape is late-ripening and prone to botrytis. Thus her dry manifestations are all the more special. The careful attention and care that goes into dry Furmint wines afford them a... Read More
