Tin House is a small family-owned and operated winery. Now we are concentrating on two varieties, Pinot Noir and Syrah. We sourced our fruit from the Edna Valley and Santa Maria Apellations. Our award-winning wines are produced in limited quantities resulting in wines that exhibit intimate craftsmanship and artisan character. – Description from Alejandro

  • There aren’t many wines out there where you can score a great example for around $12. Sure there is a lot of inexpensive wine, and some of it is good, but does it speak to you about varietal character? I’m not going to delve into terroir here because frankly that’s a lot to ask of a $12 wine but is it too much to ask your wine to taste like the ... Read More

  • I recently found a relatively new grass roots wine shop/loft in LA named the Redd Collection, founded by two friends who met while working at Wally's in the 90's. They're doing themed tastings once a week on Friday/Saturday, and this weekend featured a tasting of Ridge Zinfandel's from 1973, 91, 92, 94, and 95. How could I pass this up? Luckily,... Read More

  • Hello people, I decided to start a mini cellar and the only place is my bedroom closet. • I´ve read a lot lately on biodynamic wines and how the position of the moon and other things can affect the vines growth or even the wine tasting, mostly on phylosophical grounds believing that "Biodynamics takes organic farming practices and wraps them as broader conception of the farm / the vineyard as a coherent organism, where inputs and out...
