High atop the ridges of the Sonoma Coast, near the intersection of King Ridge Road and Tin Barn Road, is a tiny Syrah vineyard called Coryelle Fields. From this distinctive and rocky location we not only derived inspiration for our name, but also gained our first vineyard source for grapes. In addition to this unique vineyard, Tin Barn produces Cabernet Sauvignon from the hills above Lake Sonoma and the hills east of Rutherford in the Napa Valley. Our Russian River Zinfandel is sourced from a 35 year old vineyard near Windsor in Sonoma County and our Napa Zinfandel comes from a 40 year old dry farmed vineyard in Chiles Valley. In 2004 we released our first Sauvignon Blanc, from the Bennett Valley region of Sonoma County. Then in 2007 we released our first Pinot Noir, from the Ricci Vineyard on Ramal Road in the Carneros appellation (Sonoma).
Tin Barn Vineyards is a collaborative effort of winemaker Michael Lancaster and his four partners, Kurt Chapman, Gray Fowler, Bud Johnson and Carl Stewart, whose dream to make wine came together in the "Tin Barn"!
