Entiklar is situated in the southern part of South Tyrol (Unterland), where the wine road winds gently through the most attractive vineyards in the region. In this small hamlet, belonging to the village of Kurtatsch, blessed with a centuries-old tradition of winegrowing, there is a castle dating from the 12th century. This, together with the family name to the wine estate, Tiefenbrunner Castel Turmhof. The loamy, chalky soils and the Mediterranean climate – characterised by a moderate rainfall and a cool evening wind, which produces considerable differences between day and night temperatures – result in the perfect ripening of the cellars where they lend the wine its unmistakable character. A peculiarity of the Tiefenbrunner Castel Turmhof wine estate is the Müller Thurgau “Feldmarschall von Fenner”, cultivated at 1.000 meters above sea level. Viticulture at this altitude is unique Europe. – Description from Nerevar

  • Tiefenbrunner Feldmarschall Von Fenner 2011

    Snoothrank:

Bottled in July 2012, to be sold in February 2013 , 3 ha between 10 and 20 years oldSuper fine nose of lemon verbena, a hint of cut grass, low floral notes, spicy flowers, laser like acids cut through a rather rich and powerfully built mouthfeel that's showing apricot, slightly exotic orchard fruit and sour apple flavors, texturally this is a ... • Tiefenbrunner Pinot Grigio Venezie 2011

    Snoothrank:

Intensely aromatic with some underlying neutral oak character, spicy top notes, and a rush of apricot, and pear fruit On entry this is a bit soft but still bright with mineral and nicely measured oak flavors emerging from under the apricot and of apple fruit. This is a pretty sophisticated style of Pinot Grigio, nice and tense on the exceptional... Read More

  • Lagrein Castel Turmhof DOC 2010

    Snoothrank:

Very similar to 2011 with a lot of spicy wood notes accented by strong floral notes and rich plum skin fruit. In the mouth, you find lots of floral and bitter cocoa with emerging red currant fruit in a softer, lower acid style than the 2011. This is broader in the mouth with slightly creamy black cherry, blackberry fruit on the finish. Showing a... Read More

  • Tiefenbrunner Lagrein Turmhof 2011

    Snoothrank:

Tight and mineral on the nose with obvious spicy oak notes. A bit buttery and herbally spicy. On entry, this shows off bright acidity with rather soft, well managed tannins that lend this a juicy feel with plum skin and black soil notes. With nice length on the finish, this shows very pure plummy fruit with black raspberry top notes in an attrac... Read More

  • Linticlarus Lagrein Riserva DOC 2009

    Snoothrank:

Lovely nose is a bit tight but reveals slightly herbal, floral, nutty oak aromas. This is very smooth on entry and shows really fine integration. Lovely bight acidity and very supple tannins support precise black currant, black berry and black cherry fruit. This remains a little tight but shows an emerging leading edge of mocha spice as well as ... Read More

  • Tiefenbrunner Pinot Bianco Alto Adige Südtirol 2010

    Snoothrank:

A very light and zingy style. Bright flavors, low on the floral aromatics. Refreshing. Would match well with summer fare such as pesto, radish salad and shellfish. Read More

  • Tiefenbrunner Pinot Nero Alto Adige Südtirol Turmhof 2009

    Snoothrank:

The nose offers up some autumnal elements along with notes of chalk, antiseptic, and cranberry fruit. Nicely balanced and rich if austere and slightly on the tannic side. The fruit resembles the aromas of forest floor with mineral tones and astringent red fruits that are backed up with hints of beefiness. The finish is rather round and luxuriou... Read More
