Think Tank® Wine Company
Earthy and funky on the nose with a chalky edge to the barnyard, rubber and leather aromas. There’s some nice fruit buried in there and gently floral top notes but this is sauvage. Very soft and broad on entry with wonderfully bright acidity supporting...

One of our charming new posters, cysurvivor, was fishing for recommendations here for a visit over MLK weekend. Since we're all pretty free with our half-baked ideas and opinions, we had plenty of ideas for him, didn't we? Since Mauritson kept showing up on the list, it looked like it would make the final cut, so I went on private messaging an... Read More
Hello wine lovers. Im a newby. I find that I love a Mendoza Malbec like its oxygen and Nineteen Crimes cab is to die for ( althouth not in the way some of the criminals may have in route to australia) . I also am enjoying some less complex but well balanced red blends like Apothic. My favorite malbec so far is Alamos and Cigar Box is pretty nic... Read More
I have a confession to make publicly. I am a Yeast Wrangler. In every fermentation, every harvest, I try to get inside the minds of these tiny fungi and discern what they want to eat, how they would like to be treated, and what temperature they would like their environment to be. They make the wine and winemakers try to keep them happy. They are... Read More
Hi everyone. My wife Sandra and I have been into wine for the past few years and that's led to a few trips to Napa Valley and related areas in 2012 and 2013. We enjoy all wines but reds are our favorites. We hosted our first wine tasting party last night and it was a fun event - sixteen wine lovers trying different wines in a blind tasting. ... Read More

Hi Fellow Snoothers. Recently I drank a bottle of red wine from a satellite apellation from Bordeaux. It was powerful, very alcoholic and not very subtle. But after I finish the first cup I noticed a lot of sediment in the shoulder of the bottle. That seems weird to me, since this wine was from the 2010 vintage. Is this common? Or Is this the o... I ran up to Napa for a few days to get away and taste some wines from places I'd never been (most of them). I went during BottleRock Napa, but alas, didn't partake in an y of those festivities. Some great finds, so I have listed/linked any of the wines I rated over 90 points, should anyone have interest, or their own thoughts on the wines. Wit... Read More

In my continuing fascination with Chardonnay (or it could be more like a streak), I was out to dinner with my folks and we happened to go out to King's fish house, basically my dad's favorite restaurant. It's always been a bit of a tough play for wine, though not without a few somewhat interesting selections. Was also interesting how I might hav... Read More
