The West Coast village of Darling is home to artists, actors, retired financiers, farmers and other interesting people (we’d count ourselves amongst those). Even if the region geographically (not to mention demographically) is more than a little off-centre, Darling’s annual wild flower show – showcasing a selection of the 1200 flowering species to be found here – makes it the focal point of the Cape Floral Kingdom. Late in 2006 Cloof and Burghers Post were named Champions under the Biodiversity & Wine Initiative, in recognition of the steps we’ve taken to conserve pristine natural vegetation, and to rehabilitate previously cultivated areas. The programme also sets extremely strict standards in terms of the potential environmental impact of vineyard and cellar activities. Darling’s unique combination of soils and climate (more on that in the Our Vineyards section of this website) give rise to the trademark bold-flavoured richness of Cloof wines. – Description from JelaDragoljevic

  • Cloof Cabernet-Syrah Blend Groenekloof Bosstok 2006

Although it might not be the most complex red wine on the planet, I really liked this one. The blend of Cabarnet Sauvignon & Shiraz show a good balance, no weak spots, no "wow-moments" either, but very drinkable and your bottle will sure be empty at the end of the night. (If you like red fruits and the typical oak-flavors..) Read More

  • Cloof Pinotage Groenekloof 2003

This wine has a purple-redish color. Got a bit of red fruit nose and spice with a short finish, though have a bit of grassy-bitter/chemical after-taste. It is not a very good wine in my opinion and is definitely not worth the price shown (USD $110.50). Read More
