  • Just got into my first bottle of Petite Sirah. Bogle 07. I am very much enjoying this varietal. This looks very appealing in the glass and has nice blueberry fruit, but not jammy, earthy notes working around in the background. Nice complexity.Any suggestions on another representative? • We live in a world where strong adjectives are thrown around loosely both by ... Valley Fruit. Similarly the Teldeschi from Dry Creek Valley has the elements one expects from what is the single best region for Zinfandel. Not surprisingly Petite Sirah and Carignane are part of the mix with the Teldeschi which is a classic example of a Zinfandel... Read More

  • Ravenswood Zinfandel Sonoma 2007

2007 Teldeschi Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Planted between 1913 and 1919 predominantly to Zinfandel with almost a quarter Petite Sirah and a smattering of Carignane vines. 31% new wood.Powerful on the nose and while more marked by cherry wood the big, plummy and dark cherry fruit seems able to handle the spice. There is a touch of butterscotch... Read More

  • Teldeschi Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley 1995

This provided a real break in the action with it's sweetly fruited nose that retained a bit of nougat and spice from the wood but had great, spicy brambly blackberry fruit. Big, round and plush in the mouth with lots of slightly roasted plummy fruit up front and a great spicy, peppery follow through. Great with my duck breast in port reduction! ... Read More
