Patches of scenery—green, blue, brown and black—mix together on the scenic artist’s palette. Here, the earth sings in four voices: limestone, basalt, clay and terra rossa. Melodies of the earth’s unique qualities echo in each cultivated locality. In the 19th century, the French baron Edmond de Rothschild was taken by the unique setting of Mt. Tabor as an ideal place to cultivate grapes. Since then, for over 120 years the village’s residents have grown quality grapes for the wine industry and marketed their produce to other wineries. In 1999, four families—Ben-Tanhum, Sela, Peleg and Korman—decided to embark on the independent production of wine. I was looking for a sweet wine for late evenings. I saw Tabor Hills Cherry Wine in my local grocery store and though, "If I don't like it I'm only out a few dollars." Well, let me set the story straight. This wine is fabulous! Reminds me of a wine I used to buy 40 years ago in Door County Wisconsin, but Tabor Hills Cherry has a more robust flavo... Read More

  • Tabor Hill Lake Michigan Shore Red Arrow Red NV

    Snoothrank:

The color of the wine was a translucent red, similar to cranberry juice, or perhaps cherry Kool-Aid, but nothing that would suggest a hearty dry red wine blend. • Tabor Hill Cherry

    Snoothrank:

I had the pleasure of sampling Tabor Hill's Michigan Cherry wine while visiting the Tabor Hill Wine Shop in Saugatuck, MI. I fell in love instantly. I bought 2 bottles that day, but can't seem to find it anywhere locally. I shall be checking their site to see if I can order a case. I highly recommend it; it's a real treat to the senses.
