We are very proud of the continued success of the Ascot Reserve wines. It is now more than 15 years since the planting of our first chardonnay vines. We continue a tradition of producing distinctively styled wine of uncompromising quality. Distribution now extends across the country and is concentrated on fine restaurants. We are now pleased add Rao's wines to our online offerings. We have been producing chardonnay, merlot and cabernet sauvignon for the famed Rao's restaurant in East Harlem, NY for several years. Please see our ordering page for information on how you can get these beautiful wines delivered directly to your home. – Description from Dragac

  • The majority of wines on the market these days are meant to be consumed within one to five years. This is a natural law. Producing wines that can sit in the cellar for decades is time-consuming and expensive. There is a time and place for wines that age and adventurous palates are required. Most all age-worthy wines will have high acid, tannin, ... Read More

  • Columbia Valley, Columbia Gorge, and Walla Walla Valley: a triumvirate of outstanding wine producing regions with a fascinating twist. While there are numerous ways in which these three areas are vastly different from each other, they have one key similarity. Their acreage spans across both Washington and Oregon states. • On and off with differing frequency mention is made on these boards of garnacha as a choice for certain palates, and in certain contexts. Most of the mention here is pretty generic, and doesn't get down to any level of detail.Would like to suggest we take up the subject of wines from this grape with better focus. Where is good, who makes the goo... Read More

  • It's interesting that a few new topics have popped up recently (Experiencing Cabernet Franc for one) and that my wife Sandra just today handed me an article by Dave McIntyre she cut out of a Washington Post newspaper dated 25 March 2015.  I'm starting this new topic based on this article "The wine cost four digits.  And the taste?" regarding the... Friend picked us up at the airport, definitely beats the heck out of fighting the huge crowd at the rental car counters. • After last week’s disappointing look at value priced Zinfandel you would be right to think that this week’s take on value priced Syrah, with a focus on Australian Shiraz, might produce equally horrifying results. • Hey everyone, what are some of your favorite 'everyday' or M-F types of wines to accompany a regular dinner?  I personally have enjoyed the Montoya Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, and I usually pick it up from Total Wines out here in Virginia.  This is one of those fruit-forward cabs that isn't too complex for me to appreciate, and it usually cost...
