We are very proud of the continued success of the Ascot Reserve wines. It is now more than 15 years since the planting of our first chardonnay vines. We continue a tradition of producing distinctively styled wine of uncompromising quality. Distribution now extends across the country and is concentrated on fine restaurants. We are now pleased add Rao's wines to our online offerings. We have been producing chardonnay, merlot and cabernet sauvignon for the famed Rao's restaurant in East Harlem, NY for several years. Please see our ordering page for information on how you can get these beautiful wines delivered directly to your home. – Description from Dragac

  • Thought I'd start a topic to see what "different" wines people are drinking. I've been on a hunt to find wines made from lesser known grapes or from unusual areas. Here's one of each. This is a rose made from Cinsault, not too unusual right? Well this is from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. Either they don't make very good wine in Lebanon or this bo... Read More

  • We're doing a long weekend in Russian River and Napa this weekend. Flew into San Francisco yesterday with no problems. Friend picked us up at the airport, definitely beats the heck out of fighting the huge crowd at the rental car counters. Why don't they have a contiguous highway from the airport to hwy 101.So what's the first thing to do in win... Read More

  • After last week’s disappointing look at value priced Zinfandel you would be right to think that this week’s take on value priced Syrah, with a focus on Australian Shiraz, might produce equally horrifying results. After all if there was a poster child for big, oaky, goopy, and slightly sweet wines in the marketplace Aussie Shiraz certainly would ... Read More

  • Just got home after having dinner following the tasting. Met up with Mr and Mrs eMark who were in town for the NASCAR race at Sears Point over the weekend. Foxall was a gametime scratch due to a nagging injury so my better half stepped in in his place. Mrs eMark was happy to have another woman to chat with. My overall take was it was OK. There w... Not at all familiar with what Virginia has to offer. Hey All, Not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but wanted to invite all of you in the Santa Rosa area to a tasting of Virginia wines that we are hosting next Monda... • I was wondering what sort of new topic I could start that would pair nicely with my previous posting 'Weekday Wines'; well here it is - Weekend Wines.  Sometimes I just have to stop and take a minute to pat myself on the back for my quick wit but alas, this isn't one of those times.  Anyway, why not talk about wines we enjoy on weekends?  These ... • California, the land of sunshine, free spirits, and big wines. Right? Yes, of course, all that is true but today we are seeing that free spirited attitude change the paradigm for wine production. Some might say that we are witnessing a return to a different style of wine. Fresher, lower in alcohol and having more in common with wines produced se... Read More

  • It being earth day tomorrow I thought this would be a fine time to explore attitude towards the whole organic/natural/biodynamic movement. I reached out to some wine professionals to get their opinions about these wines, but before I turn the stage over to them I’d like to explore the situation briefly. Before we consider the value of these wines...
