In Rapaura, Marlborough there lies a vineyard studded with precious stones.
Once the bed of an ancient river, today they form the bed of our vineyard.
We call them sunstones.

During the day, the sunstones reflect the brilliant Marlborough sunshine up into the vines and grapes. Bathed with heat from above and below, the grapes gradually ripen and their beautifully rich flavour intensifies.

Starved of moisture and struggling to grow in the stony soil, the vines concentrate their efforts into producing a few precious grapes, with the cool Marlborough nights locking the crisp, concentrated flavour inside. What the vines lack in quantity of fruit, they more than make up for in quality.

The result is a rare wine; elegant and crisp, yet intense - the magical taste of Stoneleigh.

  • Stoneleigh Pinot Noir Marlborough 2009

    Snoothrank:

Smokey and stemmy on the nose with a touch of raw beefiness layered over fresh red berry fruit that shows a hint of holiday spice. Very focused on entry, this spreads out on the palate to show off lovely ripe cherry fruit framed with light herbal notes over a base of earthy elements. There are some tannins here, enough to keep this tense in the ... Read More

  • Stoneleigh Rapaura Series Marlborough Chardonnay 2010

    Snoothrank:

This is softly stony on the nose with a gentle oak sweetness adding richness to the core of peachy fruit. Theres some wood spice here as well and a touch of vanilla cream. On the palate, the oak spice pops early on, adding a bit of early sweetness that fades on the mid-palate as the acids kick in. The finish shows decent length and a nice balanc... Read More
