Stella is a wine label produced in partnership between Italy and the United States. Quality producers in Italy are sourced for popular varietals and styles, and the wines are directly imported to the US. As the popularity of Italian wines has increased in the states, so have the prices. These are offered as “everyday” drinking wines, “unmistakably Italian” in style. The available wines are Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Trebbiano, Sangiovese, Chianti DOCG, and Montepulciano.

  • Viña Quebrada de Macul Cabernet Sauvignon Stella Aurea 2003

    Snoothrank:

I've enjoyed the 1998, 2003 and 2006 vintages of this wine. My wife brings it home when she returns from business trips to Chile. This is one of my favorite wines although the 2003 is noticeably superior to the 2006. The 1998 was fantastic but already 9 years old when I tasted it. Read More

  • Since Greg is starting an article series on his recent trip to Tuscany and Umbria, I thought it might be useful to begin a forum thread on the wines from the area. What are the best wines from Montalcino and environs that we can find in the market now, and what are the drinking experiences with them, alone or with food? This hopefully will get i... Read More

Horrible - overpowering gasoline taste. Not even fit to cook with. First bottle was so bad, I thought it was corked, got a 2nd and nope, just plain old terrible wine. Read More

Too bad you can't really get away with that type of name in English. Guess we have to suffice with 'Big House' or 'Suckfizzle' or '10 Minutes by Tractor'... Read More

  • Would be interested in hearing from people here about any redwine and fish, crustacean, mollusk, etc. combinations they/you have found to work successfully. Having been initiated at the beginning of my wine tippling into the traditional white-for-fish, red-for-meat school of thought, I've since found that several reds and roses can work just fin...
