As the third decade of her life begins, Danielle Cyrot brings a broad scope of international winemaking expertise that extends well beyond her age. And as the descendant of French vignerons whose history goes back for centuries, she is also renewing an enological tradition that had been dormant for three generations. Danielle’s great-, great-grandfather was the last in a long line of ancestors who owned the Cyrot vineyard in Burgundy’s famous Côte de Beaune. He donated the land to the Hospice du Beaune after losing his son (Danielle’s great-grandfather) in World War I (fittingly, there is still a Pommard Cyrot cuvée from this property sold in the Hospice du Beaune auction every year.) Danielle’s grandfather moved to Paris, where her father was later born. They soon moved to St. Etienne where they stayed until her father was 16, after which they returned to Paris. Her father eventually moved to the U.S., and during studies at California Institute of Technology, Danielle’s parents met and settled Read more »

  • St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Oroppas 2005

Heavy nose of dark berry/fruit. Serious hit of cassis on the tonguea touch sweetish. Tannin and acid are, very much, resolved making this a very easy wine to drink without solid food accompaniment. I like it. Read More

  • St. Clement Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Oroppas 2002

On introduction, nicely supportive, not, yet, completely resolved tannins accompany fruit of cassis and plum. As the wine passes under the mid-palate, herbal hints pop upanise. A fairly robust wine. Good acid, along with the aforementioned still apparent tannins suggests that this wine can continue to age nicely for a few more years. Read More

  • I used to drink the St. Clement Vineyards cabs and chards pretty frequently, starting some time after William Casey bought them, but for some reason stopped doing so around the millenium. No conscious reason, just got caught up elsewhere, and I was happy with many of the bottles I'd had earlier, even if I don't remember any Oroppas. Found them r... Read More

  • St. Clement Oroppas 2011

A very strong showing for a weak vintage year of 2011. More layers of flavor and structure than the 2010. I was surprised to see such a young wine drinking this well right now. Buy a few and let them sit for a while! Cheers!! Read More

  • St Clement Lost Brother 2011

A St Clement winery exclusive. This wine is a Malbec/Petite Verdot blend. Super soft and dark as night in color. The Petite Verdot really softens the Malbec and makes the wine very easy to drink. Not a rich or multi layered wine....But very easy on the palate and would go with just about any food. The tannins are very soft.....Very unique for ... Read More
