The site of Mineral Springs, located just east of the town of Carlton, is a source of great excitement to us. Planted to 15 acres of Pinot Noir in 2002 and 2003, and 17 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 2006, this 250-acre ranch is perched on a mesa with gentle slopes, with commanding views of the surrounding Yamhill-Carlton District. As a vineyard site, Mineral Springs has an extremely compelling confluence of prime exposure, and uniform, well-drained, pale sedimentary soils. Imagine half of an upside-down bowl facing due south - here the vines absorb the sun from an ideal aspect, from morning through twilight. Unlike many vineyards with small depressions and moist swales, this is a gentle, highly uniform slope. We have high expectations for the vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs and Sparkling Wine that will eventually emerge from this vineyard. Mineral Springs Vineyard is planted between 380 and 440 feet in elevation. Exposure ranges from southeast to west, with most acreage facing south and southwest Read more »
Lovely for drinking, plus held its own taste alongside a broccoli salad with a balsamic dressing.

(Updated to add a couple pics)Another great day in the Willamette Valley!Nothing like starting the day (10 am) with a tasting appointment at Patricia Green. Started off with a really good '15 Estate Sauv Blanc, more of the dried pineapple, lemon and lime profile, none of the grapefruit. We then moved on to five different pinots spanning three d... Vino, I've been extolling Soter on these boards this whole decade. Good stuff. More exposure for Kelley. How often do you get up to NYC Vino? Anyone have any experience?I've noticed Kelley mentioned among the best company in Oregon Pinot, popular with Somm's and the like. Being a Burgundy lover, I've mostly found CA Pinot painful (though I've found a few I like!), and Oregon Pinot quite a bit more elegant, but sometimes or most of the time more boring rather than painful (as I find wi... It's interesting that a few new topics have popped up recently (Experiencing Cabernet Franc for one) and that my wife Sandra just today handed me an article by Dave McIntyre she cut out of a Washington Post newspaper dated 25 March 2015.
