In 2003, Andrew Browne launched Precept Wine Brands. He re-joined his partner Dan Baty from Corus Brands (Columbia Winery, Covey Run, Alice White), hired a great team of three and together they sought out to revolutionize the wine industry. The company's business plan reached out to the everyday wine consumer, offering modestly priced, quality wines. Out of the last 150 wineries to have been bonded in Washington, Precept was the first to focus completely on producing and selling wines for $15 or less. Since then, Precept has built a portfolio of quality value wines from Washington State, Oregon, Idaho and abroad that appeal to key consumer and trade audiences alike. – Description from markomkc

  • Sockeye Winery Pinot Grigio Columbia Valley 2012

    Snoothrank:

Grass, lemon, and peach collide on the nose and palate. Distant hints of citrus, apple, still more lemon. A delicious and acidic summer wine. Read More

  • Sockeye Winery Pinot Grigio Columbia Valley 2012

    Snoothrank:

Steely, yet rich aromas of peach, apricot and lemon. Palate is fresh and lively, acidic but not overly so, with lemon zest, peaches, and the slightest bit of an autolytic finish. Nice wine. Read More

  • I’ve been through this so many times before that it becomes rote. The differences between Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio. Well, there really aren’t any, when we are referring to the grapes. One is the name in French while the other is the name in Italian. When it comes to the wines though, there remains some distinction, though that is disappearing... Read More

  • Sockeye Winery Pinot Grigio Columbia Valley 2012

    Snoothrank:

Mineral, slightly savory and rich with green apples on the nose this smells tense and nervous. High acid on entry and still with a hint of trapped co2, this is a high wire of a wine with steely mineral character, dried apple peel flavors and crisp acids. Clean if a bit short on the finish, where this turns savory once again, this is a bit simple... Read More
