I ran up to Napa for a few days to get away and taste some wines from places I'd never been (most of them). I went during BottleRock Napa, but alas, didn't partake in an y of those festivities. Some great finds, so I have listed/linked any of the wines I rated over 90 points, should anyone have interest, or their own thoughts on the wines. Wit... Read More

Fairly tight nose. Kirsch, cassis and currant aromas. Rich and lush on the palate, as well as dry. Flavors of cassis, currant and lavender. Fairly woody yet. Built to last. Apparently open a day by the time I tried it. Nice.88 pts. 5/8/13 at winery Read More

Dark and sounds cliché, but has a typical Stag's Leap District nose. Black currant and other black fruits. Dark berry. Has a dry entry but opens to mouth watering cassis and black plum flavors. Touch of green herb on the finish which detracted me a bit. Fleshy, but nice. Dry finish. Big wine. Decant or lay down. 86 pts.5/8/13 at winery Read More

Toasty nose. Pear tart, creme brulée and hints of vibrant citrus. Creamy texture on the palate with Meyer lemon curd, dried apricot, poached pear, toasted brioche and creme fraiche. Very judicious oak. Nicely balanced and nuanced. I know Signorello to make huge wines, so unsure how this was newly released, but it's drinking nicely now. 92 ... Read More

Drank this while watching the series finale of LOST. Pure deliciousness. Needed some air time but to tell you the truth, I was pre-occupied so I can't really give this the review it deserves. Went incredible with a steak. Read More

Chocolate and blackberry nose with just a touch of sweet cream. Some coffee, chocolate and blueberry in the mouth with a soft, creamy texture - almost like a cordial but without the coarse sweetness. A long, pleasing finish. An excellent expression of Napa Cabernet and good value.Tasted at the 2010 Vancouver International Wine Festival. Read More
