In 1996 Scott Greer (Owner/Winemaker) stumbled upon 76 acres of land in the Yakima Valley now known as Sheridan Vineyard. Little did he know that this would lead to an unexpected career change from finance to wine making. In 1997 he planted four acres and his first harvest came in 2000, which produced a Syrah and a red wine blend now known as L’Orage. Currently, the vineyard has been fully developed with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. As a self taught winemaker Scott has learned that all great wines start in the vineyard. This has lead to a focus on sustainable farming which has become the basis for a healthy and balanced vineyard. Scott knows that there is still much to learn in this rapidly evolving industry, but he feels that the future of the Yakima Valley and the Washington wine industry is unlimited and we truly have the ability to produce world class wines. "From day one my goal has been to produce wines that express the unique and special qualities of this amazing property Read more »

  • Ulysses Sheridan Vineyard Yakima Valley 2005

    Snoothrank:

42% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Cabernet FrancRather fruity on the nose but in an earthy and fresh way. Theres enough smoky oak here to still be noticed, but its playing a supporting role lending coffee and vanilla accents to the bright candied raspberry, black cherry and yellow tomato fruit on the nose. This is fascinating to smell wit... Read More

  • Sheridan l'Orage Yakima Valley 2007

    Snoothrank:

There are very few wines I come back to year after year but this is one of them. A blend of Cab Sauv and Cab Franc that is powerful yet harmonius. A woody and floral nose mingles well with the intense ripe blackberry jam. On the palate is dried lavender, herbs, more jammy blackberries, and a hint of tobacco. The Cab Franc rounds out the midp...
